Chaffey Annual Photography Exhibition

The annual photography exhibition will be at the Montclair Plaza from May 4th through May 10th, it will be judged by Andrew Freeman, a well know artist and Program Co-Director of the California Institute of the Arts.

Chaffey College and the Wignall Museum are pleased to present Simplexity: Student Invitational 2009. Simplexity opens Monday, April 20 and runs through Saturday, May 23, 2009. For this exhibition, eleven Chaffey College students were selected by a panel of the college’s art, photography, digital media and art history faculty to participate in a semester-long course, taught by art professor Misty Burruel, culminating in an exhibition at the Wignall Museum and the publication of an exhibition catalogue.

The 2009 Student Invitational exhibition will include two new student positions, an art writer and graphic designer. The art writer developed an exhibition essay for the catalogue and museum didactics; the graphic designer worked with the visual artists to create a visual identity for the exhibition, including the design of the accompanying exhibition announcement and catalogue. The graphic designer, art writer, and artists have all worked to form a cohesive exhibition theme that is articulated in the title word, Simplexity. Artists, art writer, and graphic designer include: Pamela Aliaga, Andréa Arriola, Andrea Benitez, Taryn Nicole Gonzalez, Jenée Nicole Jernigan, John Leitmeyer, Laura Palm, Malina Rosales, Ryan Smith, Amy Stoshak, and Donel Rickie William.

This exhibition and reception are free and open to the public.
