Cat on a Hot Tin Roof
The Chaffey College Theatre Department proudly presents the Tennessee Williams American Classic, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, directed by Christa El-Said. This distinguished drama revolves around a dysfunctional family in 1957 on the Mississippi Delta at Big Daddy’s plantation home on his 65th birthday. The production displays an assortment of central themes essentially circulated around deception, greed, and alcoholism. Leading the cast is Brick (Jared Garcia), Big Daddy (Steven Rogers), Big Mama (Jessica Martinez), Gooper (Justin Kostecki), Mae (Kristin Hicks), and the infamous Maggie “The Cat” played by Lisa Parker.
The cast and crew consist of 30 students, community children, designers and technicians. The set design is created by Ryan Massar, costumes made by Carrie Smith, and makeup designed by Michele Bierman. “The unique thing about our show is how it deals with so many different elements that every family deals with,” Stage Manager Celine Santillan stated.
Cat on a Hot Tin Roof runs for one weekend at the Chaffey College’s Rancho Cucamonga Campus Theatre, located at 5885 Haven Avenue. The show opens the 8th of November and runs through the 11th of November. Performances held Thursday – Saturday start at 7:30pm and the Sunday matinee performance at 2pm. All tickets are $13 and will be available for purchase at the Chaffey College Bookstore.
